EVS India Is Officially Opened

The 10th of June 2009 saw the official opening of EVS India Ltd in Kolkata.
The Indian premises will house the sales office and assembly facility. There is also a service and repair department which can give a rapid turnaround of parts including power frames and logics to our Indian customers.
The new facility will enable EVS to support their Indian customers to an even higher standard, benefiting from technical support on their doorstep and ex stock deliveries.
EVS India Ltd will be headed by Mr Tarak Bhattacharya, Tarak has been in the electric vehicle industry for 17 years and has a wealth of knowledge on all types of electric vehicles and their control systems.
“We have been striving very hard for this opportunity and now we are here I’m looking forward to taking EVS India forward with our existing customers and exploring the many new ventures on the horizon” explained Tarak “It is very important to have a facility in India to be able to support our customers to the highest degree possible”
The facility was officially opened by His Excellency Mr. Simon Wilson, the Deputy High Commissioner of Great Britain and was attended by major oem’s from India as well as Ian Girdlestone from Sevcon UK.
“It was a splendid turn out with a tremendous amount of interest shown in our products” said Mr. Gary Holmes, “This is a very exciting opportunity to promote our products throughout India and beyond”
His Excellency Mr Simon Wilson explained “there was never a better time to launch EVS’s products as the new Indian Government are keen to tackle the pollution problems throughout India.
This venture shows how an idea can become a reality with the British Embassy working with UK companies”
